<body-html>
Hello, and thank you for visiting our website!

We are a very small company based in Bath, South Dakota. The idea for a women’s online retail store focusing on hunting, running, and riding clothing was borne out of a need, as most good businesses are. At first it may seem like a rather eclectic selection of apparel, allow me to explain how it all came about…

My husband (David) introduced me to hunting about 8 years ago. At first I was more worried about my aim and just learning the basics: safety, care of the equipment, rules, regulations, and laws. Then, once all of that came together, I began to wonder why I was stuck wearing men’s hunting clothes! Especially living in the middle of pheasant and Whitetail country! The choices for women’s hunting clothes were extremely limited; meaning if I were quick, I could buy a blaze orange vest from the super discount store at the beginning of pheasant season. And if I were lucky, the local feed-supply store would have an insulated pair of work boots (400 grams of Thinsulate—brrrrrr) that could double as my deer season boots. Pretty sad….

As time wore on I began to get outside more and more. I began to really care about my health and took up running. Well, again, clothing choices around here are limited. Running my first half-marathon up in Fargo, North Dakota opened my eyes to what really good running apparel could do for you! I was amazed!

On to the equines…. I took lessons on my horse Bonnie (Half-Arab pinto) before I bought her from the lesson barn about 5 years ago. There were more English riders there than Western, and the style was intriguing to say the least. Staying in that little saddle while sailing over fences looked exhilarating! It seemed odd that I had never even seen a pair of breeches for sale within 300 miles of my home, and there are literally thousands of horses in South Dakota. I know for a fact that there are a high percentage of English riders here, where they shop is beyond me!

So there I go, ‘See a need, fill a need’. A retail shop filled with women’s clothing lines that are rare finds in South Dakota. Having it begin in cyber-space I thought would be a great way to begin!

As far as the name goes, Gracie is our German Shorthair Pointer. She’s an awesome hunting dog, and wonderful family dog. We have two other dogs with more unique names, neither of which I though would be good for the name of a company (Bubba and JellyBean).

Thanks again for visiting! Please, have a look around and shop to your hearts content. A big thank-you for reading my ramblings, if you enjoyed it, there’s more to be found in Gracie’s Blog!
